AT PRESENT – Peterborough Poet Laureate

  • Appointed Peterborough Poet Laureate in November 2015
  • Youngest person to hold the title, which has been running for nearly 20 years
  • Duties so far have included: writing a poem to celebrate the queen’s birthday, reading at International Women’s Day, launching and judging competitions at local schools, opening The John Clare Festival, and facilitating workshops for The Green Backyard.
  • Currently working on developing the city’s first Young Poetry & Spoken Word collective

AT PRESENT – Pickers, Pluckers & Packers – a commission for Planet B

  • Commissioned artist alongside Keely Mills to create work for Planet B, Peterborough’s Green Festival (work presented Aug 2017)

AT PRESENT – Artistic Director for Emerge Programme – Boston

  • Delivering a large scale youth arts commission in Boston, Lincolnshire (June 2017 – April 2018)
  • Commissioned by The Mighty Creatives and UKYA

JUNE 2017 – Video commission for University Centre Peterborough

MAY 2017 – ‘Thread in Three Parts’ published in upcoming Mud Press anthology W O M A N, available here

FEBRUARY 2017 – Performed at Verve Poetry Festival

  • Represented the South East at ‘Dice Slam’ commissioned by Apples & Snakes

JUNE 2016 – Peterborough Lido Commission

  • Creating poetry in response to Peterborough Lido to celebrate its 80th birthday

MAY 2016 – Facilitating poetry workshops for Greeniversity at The Green Backyard, Peterborough

APRIL 2016 – Festival of Learning Commission

  • Commissioned by Peterborough Learning Partnership to create a poem in response to themes of leadership and excellence
  • Performed the poem to 500 teachers at the festival opening ceremony

APRIL 2016 – Poetry Rivals Finalist

  • Performed at the Elgar Room of the Royal Albert Hall
  • ‘The New Poet Manifesto’ published in the Poetry Rivals 2015 anthology

APRIL 2016 – Chocolate Poetry Club

  • Performed a feature set at the Chocolate Poetry Club alongside Laurie Bolger and Adam Kammerling

MARCH 2016 – ‘Writing Naked’ published in Write Minds anthology

FEBRUARY 2016 – ‘Wash Your Dirty Linen in Public’ Commission

  • Commissioned by Peterborough Presents and Vivacity Arts to write poems in response to live art exhibition, ‘Wash Your Dirty Linen in Public’, curated by emerging Peterborough artists

JANUARY 2016 – Arvon writing retreat, Hebden Bridge

  • Selected to attend an exclusive poetry writing retreat for young writers
  • Funded by Apples and Snakes, facilitated by Ross Sutherland and Hannah Silva

OCTOBER 2015 – National Poetry Day Live 2015

  • Collaborated with The Poetry Society and Southbank Centre to produce NPDLive – I was one of five young producers selected to work on the event
  • Performed a short set as part of the day

AUGUST 2015 – Headlined Junkyard Festival, Cambridge

  • Headline artist of ‘The Study’ stage at Cambridge Junction

JULY 2015 – ‘Trophies’ published on The Fitzwilliam Museum’s website
